The vacation home is located just south of the village of Mendocino in a quaint coastal community. Nestled amongst the California Redwood Forest and the Little Salmon Creek, the home is the ideal spot to set back the clock and regain some peace and solitude. A five-minute drive will offer beautiful views of Albion River Bridge, a WWII era wooden trestle bridge, shopping, and oysters and artisan cheese plates at the Ledford House.

This charming getaway has exposed wood ceilings, ornate driftwood carvings, and soft leather touches. The large social areas, including the living room, kitchen, and dining room are upstairs in this second-story vacation home. Feel instantly at ease in the open-concept living room, with its soft leather reclining loveseats and sofa. The loveseats are huddled around a unique carved wood coffee table base with a glasstop, and frame the large rock fireplace and flatscreen smart TV.

You and guests will gaze into the fire or absorb the nearly panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the expansive patio. High-speed free WiFi makes it easy to keep up with friends and family back home.

Just off the living room is an exquisite kitchen with custom wood cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless-steel appliances including a built-in microwave, oven, gas range grill top stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, toaster, coffeemaker, double sink, and plenty of cutting boards and kitchen accessories to serve large meals. An expansive granite kitchen island will allow you to prep lunches for your ocean adventures. Just off the kitchen is a formal dining room with a wood table for eight. At the heart of the table is a twisted carved wood centerpiece.

Three sliding glass doors off the main living area lead to the expansive patio, complete with a mermaid figurehead at the eve of the roof. Slather up with sunscreen and lounge in the Adirondack chairs on the deck which overlooks the grassy knoll and rolling waves. At night, this spacious home offers five bedrooms and thick mattress pads and four full bathrooms. Two bedrooms are upstairs, one with a king, an en suite with a soaking tub, and a walk-in closet, and the one with a queen-sized bed. Drive just a short distance for geocaching, fishing, and boating to where locals call “the redwood tunnel to the sea” at Navarro River Redwoods State Park. Make the 15-minute drive to Mendocino where you can go whale watching, board a charter fishing boat, browse book shops and galleries, or enjoy a pulled pork sandwich and local brew at Patterson's Pub.

We know it can be tempting to walk closer to the ocean from the home but the road you see is actually a private driveway and the neighbors will take action if you do so. There is a wonderful beach three miles south on the main highway, across the Navarro Bridge and then a direct right. There is no beach access at this home.
